Chip Belanga Joins HACR Board of Commissioners

RICHMOND, IN --- Chip Belanga was recently named to the Housing Authority of the City of Richmond Board of Commissioners. Belanga's tenure begins May 17, 2024, and he will serve for a four-year term.

Belanga currently serves as the Senior Pastor at First English Lutheran Church. Through his involvement with different community groups concerned about safe and reliable housing for all people, Belanga brings to the board knowledge of Richmond residents' current living conditions and a compassionate heart.

Originally from Toledo, Ohio, Belanga relocated to Richmond in 2016. Belanga holds a Bachelor's in Communication from the University of Toledo and a Master of Divinity from Trinity Lutheran Seminary in Columbus, Ohio.

Belanga is a member of Wayne County's Community Organizations Active in Disaster (COAD), a Volunteer Chaplain for the Wayne County Sherriff Department and the Richmond Police Department, and the International Conference of Police Chaplains.

Belanga has three children with his wife, Katie Belanga. During their free time, they enjoy many of the great activities Wayne County has to offer. Belanga enjoys outside activities, driving his Jeep Wrangler around the community and simply being present in all he does.

The Housing Authority of the City of Richmond provides affordable housing to the low to moderate-income population of the City of Richmond in Wayne County, providing housing through the Public Housing Program (303 units), Housing Choice Vouchers (276 vouchers), and the Neighborhood Stabilization Program (12 units).
