Holiday Turkey Giveaway (Tuesday, November 26, 2024)
As another calendar year comes to a close, HACR would like to thank our partner organizations and celebrate the success of our second annual Holiday Turkey Giveaway!
This year at the Holiday Turkey Giveaway, HACR was proud to be able to more than DOUBLE the number of meal kits distributed in 2023, by sharing holiday meals with 203 families at our event open to the general public. Each of these 203 households was gifted a frozen holiday turkey weighing approximately 15 lbs., in addition to several side dishes including green beans, yams, gravy, mashed potatoes, stuffing, dinner rolls, and cranberry sauce.
We look forward to serving even more families next year! The Giveaway this year took place from 3 PM until supplies ran out on Tuesday, November 26th, in the gym at Central United Methodist Church. Our line was out the door by 2:30!
Each individual who received a holiday turkey meal kit did so after speaking with staff from HACR, Ivy Tech, Reid Health, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Bob Ross Auto about the Family Self-Sufficiency program, continuing education options, and healthcare options. Please click here for more information on how to become a FSS participant.
When this event is offered in 2025 with continued support from our partners, HACR hopes to make it even bigger and better, continuing to serve HACR residents AND the general public. If you or your organization would like to become a sponsor of this event or other HACR events like it in the future, Please do not hesitate to reach out! Give us a call at 765.966.2687 or email Keon.
